Affiliate Program Terms
Last updated: June 2, 2026
These Affiliate Program Terms explain the basic rules for participating in the Hemest affiliate program. They are not a guarantee of approval, payment, or an ongoing relationship.
1. Approval Required
You must be approved by Hemest before using an affiliate code, referral link, or claiming affiliate credit. Hemest may approve, reject, pause, or remove an affiliate at its discretion.
2. Eligible Referrals
A referral is eligible only when all of the following are true:
- the referred business is a real prospective client;
- the referral was not already in active contact with Hemest before your referral;
- the business becomes a paying Hemest client;
- the client payment clears and is not refunded or reversed; and
- the referral follows these terms.
Hemest may reject referrals from existing leads, existing clients, prior conversations, duplicate submissions, unclear attribution, or referrals that were not meaningfully influenced by the affiliate.
Self-referrals, fake leads, duplicate leads, spam leads, or leads submitted without a real relationship or good-faith reason may be rejected.
3. Attribution
Hemest currently uses last-click affiliate attribution for 90 days. This means the most recent valid affiliate code or referral link before the lead contacts Hemest may receive credit, subject to review.
Manual review always controls final payout eligibility. Hemest may correct attribution when there is a duplicate lead, fraud, technical error, prior relationship, or unclear referral source.
4. Payouts
Approved affiliates may receive a $225 CAD flat payout for an eligible standard website referral after Hemest collects at least $675 CAD from the referred client.
This threshold is meant to fit both Hemest pricing paths: lump-sum website projects and monthly website plans. Smaller one-off add-ons, hosting-only work, maintenance-only work, or non-standard projects do not qualify unless Hemest approves the referral in writing.
Commission schedules may change. Any change will not apply retroactively to eligible referrals that were already accepted by Hemest unless both parties agree otherwise.
Affiliates are responsible for their own taxes, reporting obligations, and payment account accuracy. Hemest may request an invoice, tax form, payout contact, or other reasonable payment information before issuing payment.
Hemest may withhold or cancel payout for refunded projects, chargebacks, unpaid invoices, fraudulent referrals, policy violations, or referrals that do not meet these terms.
5. Required Disclosures
If you recommend Hemest and may receive compensation, you must clearly disclose that relationship wherever the recommendation appears. The disclosure should be easy to notice and close to the recommendation or referral link, including on blog posts, landing pages, social posts, emails, messages, videos, profiles, or any other public or private referral placement.
Examples:
- "I may earn a referral commission if you hire Hemest through my link."
- "Paid referral link."
Do not hide the disclosure in a footer, terms page, profile page, or unrelated disclaimer.
Hemest may provide approved affiliates with default disclosure wording. You are responsible for using it, or disclosure wording that is at least as clear, every time you make a compensated recommendation.
6. No Spam or Misrepresentation
You may not:
- send unsolicited bulk messages;
- use misleading claims, fake reviews, or fake identities;
- promise pricing, timelines, results, discounts, or availability on Hemest's behalf;
- imply that you are an employee, owner, or authorized representative of Hemest;
- bid on Hemest brand terms in paid ads without written permission; or
- use Hemest branding in a way that creates confusion.
If you send commercial email, text messages, or other electronic promotions, you are responsible for complying with applicable anti-spam laws, including consent, identification, and unsubscribe requirements where required. In Canada, you can review the CRTC CASL FAQ. Do not send cold bulk email or text campaigns for Hemest.
7. Traffic Quality and Attribution Abuse
You may not use cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden redirects, misleading buttons, browser extensions, malware, bots, fake form submissions, or any other method that creates false or low-quality attribution.
You may not register confusing domains, social handles, ad accounts, or pages that imply official ownership by Hemest.
8. Paid Ads and Brand Use
Affiliates may not run paid ads using Hemest's name, brand terms, domains, misspellings, or confusingly similar phrases without written permission.
Affiliates may not make claims about pricing, rankings, revenue, project timelines, discounts, guarantees, or availability unless Hemest has approved the claim in writing.
9. Confidentiality
Affiliates may not share private client, lead, pricing, proposal, or project information without permission from the person or business the information belongs to.
10. Independent Relationship
Affiliates are independent referrers. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, franchise, or joint venture relationship.
11. Revocation
Hemest may revoke affiliate approval at any time. Suspicious, unpaid, or non-compliant referrals may be cancelled after review.
12. Changes
Hemest may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will show the latest version.
